Atlantic City police arrested three local men on weapons charges Saturday evening after a motor vehicle stop, after a long rifle loaded with 16 rounds was found in the car, along with 89 additional rounds.

 

Sgt. Andrew Leonard stopped the car at 7:15 at New York and Arctic avenues, and after a brief investigation searched the vehicle, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, Aziz Rankin, 20, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine, and was issued two motor vehicle summonses.

Passengers Ricky Gilliard, 21, and Kabir McCoy, 22, were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of a high capacity magazine.

McCoy was also charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.

They all had several outstanding warrants, police said.

 

All were placed on warrants with bail set at $75,000.00 and taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing, according to police.
