Building inspectors discovered minor damage there during a citywide post-storm property survey. Officials decided to block access to the pier and close the city’s Historical Museum and Art Center housed in twin buildings at the pier’s base on the Boardwalk opposite Revel at New Jersey Avenue, according to city Office of Emergency Management Director Tom Foley.

Inspectors found a sign dislodged and some tiles missing from museum and art center roofs, as well as damaged plumbing underneath the pair, Foley said.

The museum and center closed at 5 p.m. Wednesday and will not reopen until repairs are made, likely by the end of the month, according to Atlantic City Arts Commission Secretary Tom Forkin and statements from the city Special Events Office and Atlantic City Public Library.
