Residents will have a chance to speak Tuesday on the proposed closure of the bridge leading into Longport on the Longport-Somers Point causeway between Labor Day and April 2014.

The Atlantic County Board of Freeholders is scheduled to hold its weekly meeting at 4 p.m. at the Longport Borough Hall on 2305 Atlantic Avenue.

The freeholders will discuss the proposed $3.1 million project to rehabilitate and redeck the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge. The bridge will be closed to traffic after this summer season under the proposed plan.
