Atlantic County Comptroller Bonnie Lindaw will take over as county treasurer and chief financial officer today, county spokeswoman Linda Gilmore said.

Lindaw, of the North Cape May section of Lower Township, will succeed Jane Lugo, who is retiring after four years as treasurer and CFO and 24 years with the county.

She is a graduate of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and has worked for the county since 1990, Gilmore said. She was certified as a county finance officer in March and serves as president of the New Jersey Association of County Finance Officers.

“Atlantic County is grateful for Jane Lugo’s dedicated service and fiscal management,” County Executive Dennis Levinson said in a statement. “Under her supervision, Bonnie Lindaw has risen through the ranks with experience in accounts payable, payroll, grants management and as the county comptroller since 2008.

“I am confident our conservative fiscal policies, which have helped us earn 12 consecutive flawless, independent audits, will continue during Bonnie’s tenure.”
