A body was find at about 9 p.m. Tuesday near Finn's Point in New Castle County.

Troopers were notified by a person walking along Finn's Poing, an area along the eastern shore of the river, who found the body, police said.

The body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed, police said.

When asked if it may belong to the missing Port Norris boater, Sgt. Paul Shavack, a spokesperson for the Delaware State Troopers, said there is no way to speculate on the identity at this point.

It depends on the availability of records of any missing person, including the missing boater, said Jill Fredel, a spokesperson for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services.

Information will be released pending the completion of the autopsy, Shavack said.
