State Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a car early Monday morning in Fairfield Township.

Felice Aranna, 41, of Bridgeton, was found in the westbound lane of East Commerce Street by troopers responding to a 12:30 a.m. report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle, police said.

Aranna was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:48 a.m.

Police identified the driver of the car that struck Aranna as Bridgeton resident Antonio Statten, 29. Statten was traveling east on East Commerce Street.

No charges were filed as the investigation into the accident continues.
