WILDWOOD – Former Wildwood police officer and current West Wildwood Mayor Christopher Fox has been appointed to serve as the city’s interim municipal administrator.
City Clerk Chris Wood had held the position of both clerk and administrator since September 2011, but he opted to resign from the extra post and just serve as clerk.
The resolution for Fox's appoint reads in part "Christopher Wood has recently resigned from that position to focus his attention and energies on the postion of city clerk."
Wood, whose annual salary is about $68,000, said Tuesday that City Commission voted to appoint Fox to fill the position.
Wood, who became clerk in March 2005, did not receive any additional salary to serve as administrator. Fox will receive an annual salary of $40,000 for the interim job.
The city, meanwhile, is expected to advertise to find a permanent administrator.
The administrator oversees the city’s day-to-day operations.
Fox was a Wildwood police officer from January 1994 until June 2011 when he retired.
