PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a basketball coach fired a gun at another coach during a teenage basketball game in southwest Philadelphia over the weekend.

Lt. John Walker told The Philadelphia Inquirer that no one was injured.

But he said about 70 people were in the Christy Recreation Center gym shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, and dozens of players, parents and onlookers ran for cover.

Walker said the 26-year-old coach’s team started losing in the second half of the league game for 14- to 16-year-olds, and the coach started arguing with people in the crowd.

He said the opposing team’s 45-year-old coach tried to intervene, and the younger man then drew a gun from his waistband and fired.

Walker said police and prosecutors are seeking an arrest warrant in the case.
