Coast Guard rescues mother and daughter kayaking in Stone Harbor marsh

A mother and her 9-year-old daughter, were rescued from a marsh near Stone Harbor by the Coast Guard, Wednesday afternoon.

The two were kayaking, when the tide went out and they became stuck.

A New Jersey State Police Department member alerted the Coast Guard, which responded with two helicopter crews. The mother and daughter were hoisted into a helicopter and transported to Cape May Airport in Lower Township.
