The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flooding Advisory through 5 p.m. today along the shore in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Ocean counties.

Widespread minor coastal flooding is expected on this afternoon when high tide hits and could be enhanced by heavy rain.

High tide is expected to be between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. along the coast. Beach erosion and difficult conditions for boaters are also expected. Roadways vulnerable to flooding or with poor drainage are also expected to flood.

The intersection of Shore Road, Mill Road and Tilton Road was reported flooded Friday morning.

The service warns residents not to drive vehicles through flood waters or leave your vehicle in area that is prone to flooding.

Rain is in the forecast for the area through Sunday morning with accumulation of up to two inches possible. Flooding may continue through the weekend.
