Higher than normal temperatures are projected for Tuesday, ending a cold snap that started last Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

"There's warm front moving through today," said NWS meteorologist Dean Iovino." "That's what's producing the precipitation we're having, so we'll go from snow to maybe a mix with a little sleet, and then we'll go to rain for this afternoon."

Tuesday's high is expected to be in the lower 50s, and Wednesday, which will be the warmest day this week, will have a high near 60 degrees.

After Wednesday, temperatures should return to normal. Normal highs for this time of year are in the lower 40s.

"We have a strong cold front coming through around Wednesday night," Iovino said. "So temperatures will drop back down to normal or slightly below for late in the week and the weekend."
