CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - North Wildwood doctor John Costino returned to the witness stand Wednesday morning in his drug distribution and healthcare claims fraud trial.
Costino was arrested in September 2007 after an investigation in which two undercover officers posing as exotic dancers went to his office and left with prescriptions for Percocet.
Costino is charged with nine counts of drug distribution and seven counts of healthcare claims fraud connected to the visits by those two officers.
Costino told jurors that the women told him they worked physically demanding jobs. He said the second undercover officer told him she had pain and that is why he treated her and prescribed Percocet.
"I believed everything they told me," Costino said Wednesday.
