The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority is providing applications for two of its grant programs: the Community Capital Development Grant and the Entertainment Grant.
The Community Capital Development grant is for local nonprofit groups who offer programs for Atlantic City residents and/or improve the appearance of the city. Past grants helped develop community gardens, fencing, landscaping, recreational equipment for seniors and a computer lab for local youth.
The grants are up to $50,000 and applications are due July 19. An announcement on the award will be in October.
“The city's most valuable assets are its residents and it is incumbent upon us to offer support in a way that is meaningful and helps to build a stronger community,” John Palmieri, the CRDA executive director said in a statement. “A strong community is an integral part of the success of the Tourism District.”
The entertainment grants are to support the cost of programs in the state’s Tourism District that are free to the public. The grants are up to $25,000 and are awarded on a first-come first-served basis.
Applications are available at the CRDA offices at 15 S. Pennsylvania Ave. and the Atlantic City Free Public Library. They can be downloaded at www.njcrda.com.
