Autopsies have been performed on both bodies, she said. The Cumberland County Medical Examiner’s Office is waiting for the results of toxicology tests and other investigative proceedings to determine a cause of death, she said.

Webb-McRae said it will likely be next week before authorities have a definitive cause of death.

Webb-McRae declined further comment on the incident.

Officials with the city’s Police Department declined comment, referring all questions to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.
