County residents can turn in the guns with “no questions asked.” Authorities will pay up to $250 for a gun, depending on the type of weapon.

This will be the seventh state-sponsored gun buyback program. Law enforcement agencies have collected more than 10,000 weapons in the other buyback operations.

New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa said his office decided to hold the gun buyback in Cumberland County because law enforcement agencies are in need of help from the state.
