A Richmond man faces up to 10 years in state prison after being found guilty of “pistol whipping” a victim with a revolver, according to a police statement.

The incident occurred in May 2012. On March 14, William Dean III was found guilty of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose during a four-day trial in Cumberland County Court House, the statement said.

Sentencing is scheduled for April.
