The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is assisting in the investigation of the death of a male at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Galloway Township, spokesman Jay McKeen confirmed.

Stockton spokeswoman Maryjane Briant said that police received a 911 call about an unresponsive male student at about 3 p.m. Sunday. When police arrived, the student appeared to be deceased, Briant said.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, Briant said, "but it does not appear to be foul play."

The student's family has been notified, she said, but the college did not have approval to release the name Sunday evening.

The prosecutor's office is working with Stockton police in the investigation.

Senior student affairs and counseling personnel are at the scene, Briant said.
