Traffic is being directed around a downed utility cable on the Black Horse Pike, eastbound, just outside the Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township.
Egg Harbor Township rescue personnel moved the cable out of the road at 7:45 a.m., but a portion was still blocking safe passage for larger trucks and vehicles.
EHT police are at the pike waiting for the utility company to arrive. Traffic is affected both east- and westbound, police said, until the wire is repaired. An estimated time of completion is unknown.
Police at the site did not know how the wire fell.
