MAYS LANDING - An Egg Harbor Township man pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of vehicular homicide after he allegedly struck and killed a 16-year-old boy on a bike last September.

William Michael Simkins also pleaded not guilty to charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and third-degree endangering an injured victim, according to a press release by Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel.

Authorities alleged  Simkins, 31, struck and killed Jacob Broschard, 16, of Egg Harbor Township last September.

Broschard was riding his bicycle with two other teens when he was struck allegedly by Simkins along Jerome Avenue.  Simkins then drove on without stopping, police alleged.

Simkins was arrested by Egg Harbor Township police at the police station two hours after the incident.
