ATLANTIC CITY- An elderly man crashed into the door of the Reebok store at The Walk, after experiencing a medical emergency, police said.

The accident, reported at 6:47 a.m., occurred alongside a police vehicle.

A female passenger took control of the car's steering wheel, after the car had sideswiped a police car traveling next to them, police said.

The vehicle veered into the door of the store, which was closed at the time, police said.

Both the driver and passenger have been transported to a hospital for treatment, but no serious injuries were reported- including to the police officer, police said.

The door was the only part of the store that sustained damage, said Tanger Outlets maintenance worker Jeff Springle.

The store will be open for normal business today, and there is no word on when the door will be replaced, he said.

Managers were busy prepping the store for the day and were not available for comment.
