Erosion claims large section of North Wildwood beach
Press staff reports
The Press of Atlantic City Media Group
Authorities have blocked off a portion of beach access in North Wildwood after severe beach erosion has left a cliff in dunes.
The damage to the beach is between Second Avenue and Fifth Avenue in the city’s north end near Hereford Inlet.
Earlier this year, city public works crews trucked about 100,000 cubic feet of sand from Wildwood Crest to two places in North Wildwood, including an area between Third and Seventh avenues, to replenish the beach.
