A jury on Thursday convicted a Fairfield Township man in the shooting death of a woman at the trailer park where they both lived.

Authorities charged that 27-year-old Anthony Ridgeway entered Tara Valentin’s home at TipsTrailer Park on Route 49 on Sept. 24, 2010 with the intention to commit robbery. They said Ridgeway shot Valentin once in the head with a .22-caliber handgun during the break-in.

Ridgeway also lived at the trailer park, authorities said.

Ridgeway was found guilty on charges of aggravated manslaughter, armed robbery, burglary and weapons offenses, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. The jury reached its verdict after deliberating for about five hours, she said.

Ridgeway faces up to 30 years in state prison when he is sentenced, which is scheduled for May 16 before Superior Court Judge Cristen D’Arrigo, McRae said.

Ridgeway was originally indicted on charges that included felony murder. Authorities said at the time that he faced life in prison.
