Sporting a new name and ownership, a fall antiques show has returned to Atlantic City and organizers hope to capitalize on the growing popularity of antiques-themed TV shows to draw buyers.

The Atlantic City Antiques Show got under way Saturday morning and will continue through Sunday at the Atlantic City Convention Center. It features 130 exhibitors of antiques and collectibles.

The show is owned by JMK Shows & Events and replaces the former Atlantique City Show run by a different organizer. JMK also sponsors an annual Atlantic City antiques show in March and decided to revive a fall show after a four-year absence.

Allison Kohler, president and owner of JMK, credited antiques-themed TV shows such as “Antiques Roadshow” and “American Pickers” for revitalizing interest in the industry.

“They have helped bring antiques more to the forefront of society,” Kohler said. “It has completely helped.”
