HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — A man is dead and a woman injured after a one-car crash on the Atlantic City Expressway this afternoon.

State Police have shut down the three left lanes in the area of mile marker 19.1 eastbound, near the Egg Harbor toll plaza, Lt. Stephen Jones said.

A couple was driving in a silver Oldsmobile registered to the 22-year-old Philadelphia woman, but troopers on the scene have not yet reported who was driving, Jones said.

The call came in at 1:13 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead at 1:17 p.m. The medical examiner was en route to the scene.

The Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Crash Unit has also been notified.

No information was immediately available on the dead man.

The woman was taken by ambulance to a helicopter that landed at Farley Plaza, and she was med-evaced to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
