BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP — A collision with a dump truck Tuesday morning killed a young Vineland mother who was working to overcome personal struggles.

Tabitha Stavoli, 20, was killed in the accident at Route 54 and Weymouth Road, which was reported at about 7 a.m., police said.

Stavoli was traveling south on Route 54 when she crashed into the rear of the truck driven by Luke Eldridge, 35, which was at the intersection attempting to make a left turn onto Weymouth Road, State Police said.

Stavoli’s car then spun out and struck a bicyclist, David Woodward, 59, of Collings Lakes, who suffered minor injuries, police said.

Stavoli was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The roads around the accident were closed for three hours.

Stavoli had a 2-year-old daughter, said Debbie Belfi, the mother of Stavoli’s boyfriend, Aaron.

Belfi said she has been caring for the child since she was born due to personal issues Stavoli had.

Belfi said in a phone conversation that Stavoli and her son got along well and cared for each other. Belfi said Aaron was very upset and was not able to speak over the phone.

“She was a great person,” Belfi said of Stavoli. “I don’t think she realized how important she was to people.”

Belfi said Stavoli was a caring individual. She had gotten a job and wanted to pursue her high school equivalency diploma after having attended Buena Regional High School.

“She was very helpful and very easy to get along with,” Belfi said. “It is very tragic. It’s a difficult situation.”
