The Federal Emergency Management Agency has identified hundreds of homes and apartments available for rent in storm-affected areas of New Jersey.

The agency says it has identified 250 units in Atlantic County, 166 in Ocean County and 353 units in Monmouth County that people displaced by Hurricane Sandy would be able to rent.

Those who have qualified for FEMA assistance can use their rental assistance toward security deposit and rent on the units. People who may not have needed FEMA assistance earlier can apply to move to rental housing if their housing situation has changed.

While not searchable by county, there were 88 units available within 20 miles of Cape May. There were also 35 units listed as available in Atlantic City, 31 in Margate, 17 in Ventnor and 20 in Mays Landing.
