PLEASANTVILLE— Residents interested in knowing about new flood insurance information and how the new maps will affect them can do so at a meeting held by FEMA at the South Main Street Elementary School Friday.

The meeting will be held in the school’s gymnasium and will include a presentation, as well as four stations dedicated to different subjects.

“Even if you don’t live in a flood zone” the information can be helpful, said code enforcement officer Kevin Cain.

New information about a rating system that will help the city receive a discount on flood insurance will be discussed. The system basically awards more points to close following of the National Flood Insurance Policy guidelines, Cain said.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at South Main Street Elementary School.
