A home in Vineland sustained major damage Wednesday afternoon forcing a family to evacuate.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a split level single-family home on the 1100 block of Old Lake Road at 4:59 p.m., said Capt. Anthony Baldosaro. The firefighters had the blaze under control at 5:31 p.m. and left the scene at 8:20 p.m., he said.
The fire started in the lower level but spread through the house, he said. A family lives at the home but no injuries were reported, he said. The family was given housing vouchers by the American Red Cross, he said.
The fire is under investigation, Baldosaro said.
Fire companies from Newfield and Malaga assisted the department. The Vineland EMS also responded to the scene.
