An electrical fire in a bathroom at the Tropicana caused about $25,000 in damages, the fire chief said.
Firefighters were called to the casino at about 10:10 a.m. and found smoke filling the 57th floor, Fire Chief Dennis Brooks said.
One stairwell was used for evacuation while the other was used for the fire that was tracked to a bathroom in one of the rooms. The sprinklers contained it, but firefighters had to put it out because it was out of the sprinklers' range, Brooks said.
Firefighters cleared the scene at about 11:30 a.m., and no one was injured.
Brooks commended the casino for its quick cleanup. He also said the buildings' construction and sprinkler system kept the fire from causing more damage.
The two room and a room below that suffered water damage are closed.
