A four-car accident slowed traffic on the Atlantic City Expressway eastbound in Hammonton for more than an hour Tuesday night.

Sgt. James Kopko, of the New Jersey State Police, said two cars were involved in an accident when they sideswiped each other on milepost 29.6 at 7:43 p.m.

Two other cars then hit the two vehicles on the three-lane highway, he said.

Kopko said three people were injured but none of the injuries are considered serious.

Traffic was slowed for more than an hour before the road was cleared.

The accident is under investigation.
