GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A new municipal website has been unveiled after several months of designing and planning to update the site and make it more user-friendly.

The site — www.gtnj.org — went live Tuesday.

Earlier this year, the township entered into a $7,000 contract with City Connections, of Barnegat Township, to redesign and update the website. Officials said the new design will allow the public quicker access to township documents, forms and services.

The committee overseeing the new website design and research included Councilmembers Jim McElwee, Whitney Ullman and Brian Tyrrell.

“It's been a long time coming, but finally Galloway residents and businesses will have an easy-to-navigate website full of the latest news, resources and information the township has to offer," Ullman said.

The new design comes after the township’s previous website was ranked near the bottom of a Monmouth University poll of municipal websites in the state. That poll placed the township 312th out of 540 ranked sites.

City Connections designed three of the websites in the poll's top 10, township Manager Arch Liston said.

“It is still a work in progress, but we wanted to get it up and online sooner than later,” Liston said.

Residents are asked to call the township with suggestions for the website at 609-652-3700, ext 229.
