Galloway Township police report a gas attendant was struck by a motorist Thursday sending him to the hospital with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at USA Gas on the 200 block of South New York Road in Smithville when a car driven by Linda Miller, of Galloway, struck attendant Kyung Kim, of Galloway, police said in a release.

Police said Kim was working as an attendant and was walking across the parking lot when he was hit.

Kim was knocked to the ground with “serious but non-life threatening injuries,” police said. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, police said.

The accident is under investigation. Miller was issued a summons for careless driving, police said.
