Gas leak forces the evacuation of homes in Lower Township By JOEL LANDAU, Staff Writer The Press of Atlantic City Media Group
A small gas leak forced the evacuation of a few homes in the Villas section of Lower Township Tuesday morning.
A construction crew accidentally hit a gas main at Beachwood Avenue in the Bayside Village complex, causing a small leak that crews from South Jersey Gas had to repair, according to the Villas Fire Department.
The damage was fixed by the early afternoon. No injuries were reported.
