Hammonton Police arrested a former barbershop employee after he allegedly tried to steal $30 from the Bellevue Avenue business Friday morning.

Lt. Mark Fiorentino said officers arrived at Fresh Cutz shortly after 1 a.m. and found the front door smashed in with a planter. They quickly found a suspect walking down the main street in the downtown.

“He was covered in blood from cutting his hand on the door,” Fiorentino said.

Patrolman Jared Baglivo, with the help of other squad members, arrested Miguel Rivera, 35, of Hammonton, for the burglary. He was taken to Atlantic County jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
