The HERO Campaign is teaming up with Rutgers University to ensure fans stay safe after home football games.

Bill Elliott, of Egg Harbor Township, founded the nonprofit organization, which promotes and provides designated drivers.

A HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers tent will be located at the main gate for Saturday’s game against Connecticut. Designated drivers will be registered to provide safe rides home for friends or family.

Elliott’s son, Navy Ensign John R. Elliott, was killed by a drunken driver in July 2000.
