LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP — A Texas man photographing damage from Hurricane Sandy was injured Sunday when he fell off a ladder in the Brant Beach section of the township, police said.

The identity of the 60-year-old man was not released Sunday pending notification of his family. Police received a 911 call Sunday that the man, an insurance adjuster in the area to survey damage, fell off a ladder on West 59th Street.

He had been outside on a second-floor porch photographing damage when the ladder he was standing on shifted. The man fell approximately 15 feet, police said in a news release.

Officers found the man alert and complaining of pain in his side on a first-floor landing. He was transported by the Beach Haven First Aid Squad to the Ethel Jacobsen Elementary School in Ship Bottom. From there, he was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus.

The man’s condition is unknown.
