Pleasantville police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car Saturday afternoon near Delilah Road and Franklin Boulevard.

Capt. Rocky Melendez said a female driver struck a 16-year-old boy just after 1 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses later told police the teenager had dashed out into oncoming traffic, so officials have not yet issued any summonses to the woman, who lives in Egg Harbor Township, Melendez said later Saturday.

The teen was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Melendez said.

Additional information won’t be available until Monday, he said.
