LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Police were investigating the death of a man who was found on the roadside Sunday afternoon.

At 3:14 p.m., police went to Route 9 and Otis Bog Road after a report of a struck pedestrian. When police arrived, they found an unconscious man on the side of the road.

Police administered first aid and began CPR until paramedics arrived. Police said they determined the Little Egg Harbor man, 63, was not struck by a vehicle but suffered a medical emergency while standing outside of his vehicle.

The man was transported to the Southern Ocean County Medical Center, Manahawkin in Stafford Township, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death remained under investigation Monday.
