Local private nonprofit organizations may apply for loans for damage and losses suffered in the June 30 storm.

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced it will provide loans to organizations that do not provide critical services of a governmental nature.

The loans are available in Atlantic and Cumberland counties.

Examples of eligible organizations include food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools and colleges.

Interested applicants can contact the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management at ready.nj.gov to obtain information.

Applicants may apply online at disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

Disaster loan information and application forms may also be obtained by calling the SBA's Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov

Loan applications can be downloaded from sba.gov

Completed applications should be mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Sept. 17, 2012.
