A Lower Township man was arrested and charged with distributing child pornography, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Lower Township Police Chief Brian Marker said in a press release.
Robert Hedley III was charged with second -degree distribution and fourth-degree possession of child pornography.
In the press release, Taylor said Hedley was arrested following an investigation that found that Hedley was allegedly sending child pornography via the internet.
The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at Hedley’s home at 3900 Bayshore Road, in the North Cape May section of the township by members of the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and High Tech Crimes Unit, as well as Detectives from the Township Police Department.
During the search of Hedley’s home, several computers were seized. Hedley was charged and then released on his own recognizance. Additional charges are pending further analysis of Hedley’s computers.
