Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno promised to get federal and state money as soon as possible to help rebuild parts of Cumberland and Salem counties damaged in two recent storms.

Guadagno and officials from several state agencies toured Sunset Lake on West Park Drive in Bridgeton today. Guadagno told Cumberland County officials that she wanted to see if the damage was as bad as she heard.

"It's as bad as we expected," she said.

Guadagno said she would talk with Gov. Chris Christie about the need for getting money to Cumberland and Salem counties as soon as possible.

The damage she was inspecting was caused during the Aug. 14 storm and Hurricane Irene that hit both counties.
