An investigation into drug activity at an Atlantic City motel led to the arrest of a Brooklyn man with two guns, including one stolen from Georgia.

Tac team Officers Chris Lodico and Nick Berardis went to the Burgundy Motel at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday to follow up on an investigation into drug activity in Room 214, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said.

While speaking with the man the room was registered to, the officers noticed a crack pipe and crack cocaine sitting on the nightstand, according to the report.

They also found two loaded semi-automatic handguns lying on the floor, McMenamin said. One had a large-capacity magazine with seven rounds of hollow-point ammunition.

The gun was determined stolen from Georgia.

The officers arrested Jeffrey Lawton, 47, and charged him with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of a prohibited device - for the hollow-point bullets and the large-capacity magazine), receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being held at the Atlantic County Jail on $75,000 bail.
