CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE -- A man arrested in Pennsylvania on Friday will be charged with the sexual assault of a Stone Harbor woman last September, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor and Stone Harbor Police Chief Paul Reynolds announced.
Authorities said Charles Boone was arrested in Montgomery County, Pa. after a five-month investigation that began following the alleged Sept. 29 assault.
Boone is incarcerated in Pennsylvania and is currently held under fugitive from justice charges pending extradition to New Jersey. Authorities say in New Jersey he will be charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and burglary, which could net a 10-year prison term.
Police said a Stone Harbor woman, whose name was not released, awoke on the night of Sept. 29 at her home and realized she was being sexually assaulted in her own bed. The suspect fled the residence at this time.
Taylor and Reynolds commended the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for help in the investigation.
