Jose Martinez was not happy about his meal and service at the Applebee’s restaurant in Vineland on Saturday, according to authorities.
In fact, the 50-year-old Millville resident was so upset that he returned to the eatery on Monday and threatened to burn it down when management would not give him a refund, Vineland police said.
Martinez, of the 600 block of North 5th Street, is now charged with two counts of terroristic threats for not only allegedly saying he would torch the facility, but also for supposedly threatening several managers, police said. Martinez is free on a municipal court summons.
The alleged incidents occurred around 6:50 p.m. in the Applebee’s in the 3800 block of Delsea Drive, according to Vineland police.
Martinez arrived to complain about his meal and the way he was treated by staff, police said. Martinez began making his alleged threats when managers, after conferring with their employees, would not reimburse Martinez for his meal, they said.
Police said Martinez became “enraged,” and eventually left Applebee’s in his car and headed towards Millville, where he was eventually arrested.
No information was available on what kind of meal Martinez had ordered.
