VINELAND — Authorities are searching for the man who allegedly robbed an insurance company employee at knifepoint Friday.

City police said the incident occurred while the employee, who is not being identified, was closing the Allstate Insurance Company office in the 1100 block of Landis Avenue for the day.

The suspect is described by police as a black man who wore a mask, sunglasses and a New York Yankees cap. The suspect fled south on South Main Road in a red pickup truck, they said.

Police said they consider the suspect to be dangerous, and that neither he nor his vehicle should be approached.

Police said anyone with information about the incident should contact local authorities by calling 911.

Crime Stoppers of Vineland is also offering a $1,000 cash award for information leading the suspect’s arrest and conviction. Information can be given anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 856-691-0345.
