VINELAND - Members of the public are filling the Landis Theater on East Landis Avenue before the start of tonight's mayoral candidates debate.

The five candidates, City Councilman Douglas Albrecht, former Mayor Perry Barse, former councilman Ruben Bermudez, David Mazur and current Mayor Robert Romano, will each give opening and closing remarks. In between, the League of Women Voters will pose questions that were submitted by members of the public, the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce, and The Daily Journal.

A TV crew made up of students from Vineland High School is filiming the event. The debate will be broadcast 7 p.m. Friday on Channel 9 in Vineland as well as on various dates before the November election.

The debate, scheduled to start at 6 p.m., is expected to last about 90 minutes and the event is open to the public.
