Egg Harbor Township Commitee's annual reorganization meeting Tuesday brought no major changes in the municipality’s governance.

James “Sonny” McCullough was sworn into his 24th term as mayor by Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson. McCullough, who lives in the Seaview Harbor area of the township, served as mayor for several terms in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He’s served consecutively since 1996.

Paul Hodson, who lives in the English Creek section, was appointed to his second term as deputy mayor.

With no Democratic challengers in November’s election, the township’s all-Republican Township Committee will stand for another year.

McCullough said most of the township’s boards, committees and appointed professionals will also carry over from 2012.

“We try to stay uniform and consistent,” he said Wednesday. “I think that is what makes Egg Harbor Township a government that’s recognized in the state as one of the best run.”
