MIDDLE TOWNSHIP — A drug raid early Tuesday morning on Johnstown Lane caught five suspects, including a confirmed gang member with an active warrant for attempted murder, police said.

Local police and the Cape May County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 4:30 a.m. on three residential units on the road after an investigation into drug distribution from the location.

Of the five people arrested, four were taken to Cape May County Jail and one, Michael Schlegel, 36, was released on a summons after being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another, Keith Wiggins, 29, of Millville, is a member of the Crips gang, police said, and has an active warrant from Millville for attempted murder, with bail set at $350,000.

The other people arrested were Richard Evans, 31, Akeem Graham, 29, and Aquarius Foster, 22. All were charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The bail for Graham and Evans was set at $25,000 cash. For Foster it was set at $10,000 cash.
