CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - A Middle Township woman faces attempted murder charges after she allegedly stabbed a man in the back Wednesday morning.

Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor said Thursday that police were called to a home in the 800 block of Main Street at 3:55 a.m. There police reported seeing the victim, a 43-year-old man, bleeding from the back. He was transported to AtlantCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he is listed in stable condition.

Investigators determined that the victim had been visiting the home of Jamie Flynn and Joseph Pierce when he and Pierce became involved in an altercation.

Police said Flynn then stabbed the victim several times in the back with a knife.

Flynn, 21, of the Edgewood section of the township, was arrested and charged with first-degre attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful posession of a weapon.

She is being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $300,000 bail.

Pierce was charged with simple assault and released on a summons.

The Prosecutor's Office and Middle township police are investigating.
