A Middle Township man is in critical condition after his motorcycle collided Monday with a sport utility vehicle Monday in Dennis Township, State Police said.

Troopers from the Woodbine station responded to the accident near milepost 18 on Route 9 at 4:14 p.m.

Police said Sandra Timmons, 63, of Shamong Township, was attempting to turn left from the northbound lane into the parking lot of The Garden Greenhouse and Nursery when her 2010 Buick Enclave struck a 1997 Suzuki motorcycle driven southbound by Ryan C. Toler, 24, of the Rio Grande section of Middle Township.

The motorcycle rotated clockwise before coming to rest on its left side in the southbound shoulder. The SUV also rotated clockwise, coming to rest in the southbound shoulder.

Toler sustained severe internal injuries and was transported via Medevac to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was listed in critical condition as of 7 p.m.

Timmons and her passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Cape Regional Hospital.

State Police say the accident is still under investigation and charges have not yet been filed.

There were delays for several hours Monday afternoon on Route 9, but the scene has since been cleared.
